A Conversation with Jeff Taylor

Spoke with Jeff Taylor, the day manager at Destination Cafe. Jeff has been struggling lately with a rare form of arthritis known as ankylosing spondylitis. This means that until recently he has been forced to use a cane to get around. The upshot of all this is that he has been working only half days of late.

In spite of the winter doldrums that has left most of the businesses along Lakeshore Boulevard with few customers, there have been a couple of shots in the arm for Destination Cafe. The cafe has been interviewed twice lately, one by a local television cable outlet, the other by a community newspaper. Even so, Jeff informed me that the cafe will be closing an hour early during the week until the weather improves.

With the advent of Easter, the cafe is offering gift baskets starting at $15.95. The baskets will contain coffee, chocolate and other goodies. They are being assembled by one of the staff whose other part-time job involves the production of such items for the general public.
